About Me

Coaching has always been one of my biggest passions. For more than 20 years, I’ve had the opportunity to coach hockey and help athletes develop the skills, confidence, and understanding they need to become better players. Along the way, I’ve learned that great coaching is about much more than teaching a skill. It’s about understanding how people learn, breaking down complex challenges, building confidence, and helping people apply what they learn in real-world situations.

That passion for coaching naturally carried over into mountain biking.

I’ve been mountain biking for more than 12 years and have developed a deep understanding of riding technique, bike control, jumping, drops, skinnies, and technical trail riding. When I began transitioning from hockey coaching to mountain bike coaching, I quickly realized how much of my coaching experience translated to the bike. Reading movement, teaching body position, developing balance and control, creating effective drills, and helping athletes build confidence are skills that apply across sports.

My years of coaching experience have allowed me to become a mountain bike coach quickly—not just because I know how to ride, but because I know how to teach. I love breaking down the “why” behind a skill, helping riders understand what their bike is capable of, and giving them the tools to feel more confident and in control on the trail.

Coaching is also at the heart of what I do outside of sports. Through life coaching, I help people identify what’s holding them back, build confidence, navigate challenges, and work toward the goals that matter to them. As a software consultant, I use many of those same skills in a different environment—understanding complex problems, breaking them down into manageable pieces, and helping people find practical solutions.

While mountain biking, life coaching, and software consulting may seem like very different things, there’s a common thread running through all of them: I love teaching, solving problems, and helping people become more capable and confident.

My athletic background includes playing NCAA DIII hockey, competing twice on American Ninja Warrior, and, in 2019, becoming the oldest rookie to sign a professional contract in the National Women’s Hockey League. But the part of my experience I value most is everything I’ve learned through years of being an athlete, a coach, a teacher, and a student myself.

Whether I’m helping someone master a new skill on a mountain bike, work toward a personal goal, or solve a complicated problem with software, I’m passionate about helping people learn, grow, and discover what they’re capable of.
