My Story
I am a lifelong athlete with a striking passion for hockey. Growing up in the South, where hockey was not a popular sport, I started playing roller hockey at age 11 outside under the South Florida sun. I moved rather slowly into the competitive realm of ice hockey, but at age 17 I was accepted to play for one of the most prestigious preparatory hockey schools in the country, Shattuck-St. Mary’s. I went on to play NCAA DIII hockey, and in 2005, began coaching while continuing to hone my playing skills. At age 36, in 2019, I became the oldest rookie ever to sign a professional contract in the National Women’s Hockey League, doing so one year after beating breast cancer! A versatile athlete, I've also competed twice on American Ninja Warrior. I have a strong desire to help people discover and enjoy the sport that has become such a joy in my own life.
